NFL Game Preview – Giants at Cowboys
Online betting players have no idea what’s going on down in Dallas, where the Cowboys have gotten off to a horrible start, and the media isn’t letting them forget it. The Cowboys have a major chance to redeem themselves on Monday night when they host New York in a divisional showdown, and we think Dallas is going to rise to the occasion on both sides of the ball.

What’s On The Line
The New York Giants (4-2) held off the Detroit Lions for a 28-20 win at home, and are now atop the NFC East along with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Dallas Cowboys (1-4) are in serious danger of missing the playoffs after a 24-21 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, and the season is on the verge of a disaster. This is simply a must-win for the Cowboys if they don’t want to lose any more ground in the East, while the Giants are trying to extend a three-game winning streak.
Offensive Matchups: Giants Cowboys Betting
New York was as balanced as you could get against the Lions, racking up 167 yards through the air, as well as on the ground, and that is when the Giants are at their best. Ahmad Bradshaw had 19 carries for 133 yards, which Brandon Jacobs plowed in a pair of scores. Eli Manning was 20-of-30 for 177 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and when the running game is going, he can use his play-action fake. They were also aided by an undisciplined Detroit team that gave them four first downs on penalties, which could very well happen with the Cowboys as well.
Tony Romo was 24-of-32 for 220 yards and three touchdowns, but he also threw a pair of picks in the process, and the Cowboys still don’t have a running game. For having so much talent, and ranking third in the league in yards, the Cowboys are having a tough time scoring, coming in 16th in that category. It’s a number of things: penalties, the lack of a running game, some poor decisions by Romo and some awful play-calling by Jason Garrett. Talent-wise, they’ve got the Giants beat. Execution-wise, not so much, and that has to change.

Defensive Matchups: Giants Cowboys Betting
The Giants’ NFL betting odds are rising because of their defense, which is ranked second in the league and it looks like the unit that led them to the Super Bowl back in 2007. Two more sacks against the Lions gave them 21 on the season, which is second in the league. After a rocky start, it looks as though the Giants are back on track, and it looks like they only needed to be challenged. It all starts up front, as the front four are absolutely running things right now.
The Cowboys are two spots back in fourth place defensively, and they actually did a good job executing against the Vikings, they were just put in bad positions by a couple of turnovers. However, the penalties are killing them as they handed the Vikings a couple of first downs, and in their state, the Cowboys can’t afford to be giving away plays. If they could stop the flags, they’d be in a much better place.

Notable Injuries: Giants Cowboys Betting
Fullback Madison Hedgecock (hamstring) will miss his third game in a row, but that’s the only major injury worry for the Giants.
Guard Kyle Kosier (Achilles) will be out for a couple of weeks for the Cowboys.

Outlook and Pick: Giants Cowboys Betting
The Cowboys are favored at three points according to NFL betting odds, but the Giants have won three of their last five in Dallas, including a 33-31 victory last season in the Cowboys’ first game in their new stadium. However, we’re taking the Cowboys to snap out of their slumber this week as we think their offensive line can give Romo time in the pocket. The New York secondary can be had, but the opposition rarely has the time. We also think the Dallas defense will come up big against Giants’ offense, and if they can take away the running game, the Cowboys will win going away. As is, take them in your sports betting book.
