New Online Gambling Bill in Australia – Operators Pull Out

Scott Morris | June 26, 2017

The new online gambling legislation introduced in Australia last year is set to take effect and as a result internet gambling sites are pulling out of the country. The Interactive Amendment Gambling Bill 2016  was introduced in 2016.  The idea of this bill is to protect Australian citizens from themselves, as they are “likely to get into trouble online” says Alan Tudge, the human services minister.

Protecting citizens from their own inability to self police is often the cloak that is used by government officials who feel that they are missing out on a piece of the action. Usually the same countries that enact this legislation offer lottery games that have absurdly low chances of winning and they do not install any type of limit per person, which shows the hypocrisy of the entire argument.

Some of the gaming brands to leave Australia are:

BetVictor
Casumo
Roxy Palace
TLC Bet
12Bet
Fun888
888
Leo Vegas
Aftonbladet
CasinoJefe
All Australian
Guts
Rizk
Kaboo

Betspin
Dunder
Mr Green
