MLB Baseball Bet June 4, 2011
Philadephia at Pittsburgh
June 4, 7:05 PM | Grass of PNC Park
The Philadelphia Phillies head to the Western part of Pennsylvania to take on the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Phillies come in with a solid record (34-23) and play the Pirates who are right under .500 at (27-29). The Pirates usually are already thinking of packing it up this time of year but are only 5.5 games back in the division. Both teams have been profitable on the money line this year. The Phillies have clear over $250 on a standard $100 Moneyline and the Pirates twice that with around $550.
Baseball matchups are all about pitching. Philadelphia’s K. Kendrick (3-3, 3.18) takes on Pittsburgh’s C. Morton (5-2, 2.51). This will be a good matchup. Except for the win/loss differential these teams have very equal stats all the way around. We are almost tempted to recommend the Pirates at home here but just cannot do that. I am leaning toward a small play on the Phillies with Kendrick on the mound. Currently Philly is -120 on the moneyline, just very slight favorites.
