ATP – Against the Public
ATP is a betting strategy where the bettor bets against what the majority of the public is betting. There are several factors that go into this type of betting strategy:
First, and most importantly, the information source for the public betting numbers must be accurate. If this source is not accurate you can throw the baby out with the bath water.
Second, the game must be a marquee game that attracts plenty of action from “Joe Public” type of bettors.
Thirdly, at least 2/3 of bets must be on one side for the play to truly be considered lopsided.
Finally, we have found ticket numbers, and not the total money, to be the more important factor when calculating this type of play. If you get lopsided money and ticket numbers, that is a bonus.
