Cooper Flagg Player Props 2025 March Madness Filled With Expectations

Duke’s Rising Star Is Expected to Lead the Blue Devils to a Title

The Next Big Thing

You don’t have to look far in the category of March Madness Player Props to find the name, Cooper Flagg. As the prohibitive favorite to be chosen John Wooden Player of the Year, Flagg has led the top-ranked Duke Blue Devils to a 31-3 record and the No. 1 overall seed in the 2025 NCAA men’s basketball tournament.

A native of Maine, Flagg did quite well as a freshman in Durham. Listed at 6-foot-9, Flagg averaged 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.1 assists/game, a menace at both ends of the floor

Flagg was the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Year. consensus first-team All-American and all-ACC as well as a member of the conference’s all-defensive team.
Impacting the game even without the ball, Flagg has the Blue Devils favored to win their first national title in a decade. In this era of one-and-done, he is projected as the first overall selection should he choose to enter the NBA (more about that scenario later in this story).

With the first round of the 2025 tourney set to begin March 20th and 21st, eyes are going to be focused on known-quantity marquee stars such as Flagg.

As the gazillions of people who’ve filled out a March Madness bracket watch the teams try to survive and advance, this doesn’t mean Flagg’s regular-season success is guaranteed to carry over to March Madness games, but it certainly would not stun.

By the way, the 2025 NBA Draft is June 25th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Here’s a bit of a primer on the 2025 NCAA men’s basketball tournament…

Why Is Cooper Flagg So Famous?

NCAAB news suggests Cooper Flagg is so famous because he is so good. As was mentioned, he was the catalyst for the outstanding regular season of the Duke Blue Devils. Duke entered the NCAA men’s basketball tournament having won 11 games in a row, including the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament (beating the Louisville Cardinals in the final game).

Thus, the March Madness schedule had no choice but to make Duke the No. 1 overall seed. Whether the Blue Devils can advance to the cavernous Alamodome in San Antonio (the Final Four begins April 5th, with the national title game going April 7th) remains to be seen.

Will Cooper Flag Go to the NBA?

Probably, since the mock drafts all have Flagg as the  No. 1 overall selection in the draft. Pending any transactions, it’s the Utah Jazz who are on the clock with that choice.

It’s doubtful Flagg’s performance (should he play) in the 2025 March Madness games is going to affect his stock, but there is an issue to be taken into consideration (more about that in a bit).

If you’re keeping track of such things, there’ve been five Dukies chosen first overall in the draft, beginning with Art Heyman (New York Knickerbockers) in 1963 and ending (as of now) with Paolo Banchero of the Orlando Magic in 2022.

What Is Cooper Flagg’s Injury?

Indeed, this may or may not have a bearing on March Madness player props. Flagg injured his left ankle in an ACC quarterfinal game against Georgia Tech and didn’t play in the team’s last two games.

Duke is scheduled to begin its NCAA tourney Friday evening. March 21st, versus a play-in winner at “home” in Raleigh. As of this writing (about 48 hours out). Flagg is expected to be a “go” in the tournament, which is good news if you’re a fan, pool participant, or among those wagering on Cooper Flagg’s betting lines.

Does BetUS Have Constant Updates on March Madness Winners’ Odds?

March Madness picks and predictions include a variety of options, especially when it comes to the biggest prize out there, finding the eventual national champ.

It’s the Duke Blue Devils as tepid 3-1 (+300) favorites to win their first title in a decade, the second-choice Florida Gators at 7-2 (+350).

Priced at 9-2 (+450) are the Auburn Tigers, while the Houston Cougars are 6-1 (+600) on the NCAAB betting odds, the only other team under double digits in mid-March. At No. 5 on the betting board are the 18-1 (+1800) Alabama Crimson Tide.

Note the odds of winning the title are fluid (these were just before the beginning of the first round of the tourney). Do not forget to check ‘em before wagering.

Quickly to the University of Connecticut Huskies and their attempt at a three-peat. UConn is 80-1 (+8000) to pull off what would be the first “hat trick” since the dynastic UCLA Bruin teams of the 1960s through the 70’s.

Any Final Thoughts?

Fans of NCAAB rumors are in their glory around this time of year. Teams they know well and teams they know nothing about, both come into play in the tournament. Who has a shot to win it all and who’s a one-and-done entity? Do some homework and figure it out.
