2025 NFL Draft Odds Examined

The 2025 NFL draft is scheduled to get underway on Thursday, April 24, at historic Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The NFL Combine was held at the end of February and prospective draft picks are holding pro days in advance of the draft.
Bettors can get in on the action in what has become a sort of second NFL season. There is plenty of hype in the buildup to the draft and still lots of unanswered questions. Still, you can get in on the betting action right now. Here’s a look at the 2025 NFL draft odds.
Who Goes No. 1?
The market for the first overall pick is always interesting. By this time though, it’s almost a foregone conclusion who the first pick is going to be. The Tennessee Titans hold the first pick in this year’s draft. The Titans have Will Levis at quarterback, but he’s had some injury issues and he may not be their QB of the future.
Since it is the most important position in football and the Titans having said that they wouldn’t pass up a generational type of talent, sportsbooks have Miami QB Cam Ward installed as the favorite. What’s interesting is the variance in the odds. Ward is a -400 favorite at BetUS, but he’s listed at -700 at FanDuel and -800 at BetMGM.
If you like Ward at No. 1, shop around for the best price. There is speculation that the Giants might trade picks with the Titans. The thought is that the Giants would trade into No. 1 so they could take Ward. That wouldn’t affect a bet on Ward to go No. 1. The only direction Ward’s odds go from now until draft day is not in your favor. If you like the pick, find the best odds and pull the trigger.
Who Picks Travis Hunter?
Now, if you don’t like the price on Ward to go No. 1, you can always pass on it. A more interesting – and more lucrative – bet involves former Colorado star Travis Hunter. Hunter is a combination WR/DB who won the 2024 Heisman Trophy, the 2024 Bednarik Award, the 2024 Biletnikoff Award, the 2024 Lott Trophy, and was named the 2024 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.
That said, Hunter can and will play both ways in the NFL. The Cleveland Browns have the No. 2 pick in this year’s draft. They do have some quarterback issues, but have been in discussions with Russell Wilson and Joe Flacco and Kirk Cousins could be options as well.
The Browns just signed DE Myles Garrett to a record contract extension so taking Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter is probably out. That leaves the two-way Hunter who could help the Browns on both sides of the ball as well as in the return game. The Patriots, who pick at No. 4 actually are the favorite at +125 to get Hunter. The Browns, who pick second are given +350 odds and the Giants with the third pick are listed at +300 at top rated sportsbooks.
Mr. Irrelevant
Unlike the last few years, many of the NFL draft categories like 1st RB or 1st TE selected have significant favorites. Ashton Jeanty, who rushed for 2,601 yards and 29 TDs last season, is the overwhelming -3500 favorite to be the first RB selected. Tyler Warren is a -1000 favorite to be the first TE picked at top rated sportsbooks.
Mr. Irrelevant, or the last pick of the draft, is another category on which you can bet. The wager is on the position of the guy who is drafted last. Last year, it was Jaley Key, a safety from Alabama who went last to the New York Jets. Key was the second consecutive defensive player picked. In fact, four of the last five Mr. Irrelevants were defensive players.
Over the last 12 drafts, one position has been selected three times. It’s the only position with three picks – tight end. The favorite in this year’s draft is defensive end, which makes sense. Other than quarterback, it may be the most important position on the field. If you like the longshot, there are 26 TE prospects in this year’s draft. The odds that Mr Irrelevant is one are +2000 at top sportsbooks.
