eberflus to be fired odds

The season is past its midway point and coaches and their teams have put forth a body of work which sports bettors can pore over and make futures wagers accordingly.

The head coach position is the where the buck stops when it comes to all things on the field. They pick the assistant coaches, they choose the coordinators and they decide which players start and which ones sit. They also get much of the glory when a team is doing well. That’s why in this article we want to display odds for coaches that may very well win coach of the year as well as odds for the next coach to be fired.

Coach of the Year Odds

odds taken from SportsBetting.ag

Mike Tomlin +300
Dan Campbell +400
Jim Harbaugh +450
Jonathan Gannon +600
Kevin O’Connell +900
Dan Quinn +900

Mike Tomlin has done a terrific job picking up players in free agency and the draft to keep his team competitive every year. He has built a culture in Pittsburgh where players respect him and want to win for him. The Steelers are 8-2 and just beat one of the top teams in the league in Baltimore.

Dan Campbell is currently the coach of the hottest team in football. The Lions are favored to win the Super Bowl for the first time in history. That is something to consider when picking which coach to bet.

Next NFL Coach Fired Odds

Doug Pederson -125
Matt Eberflus +150
Brian Daboll +500
Mike McCarthy +600
Todd Bowles +1400

The writing is probably on the wall for all these coaches. Their teams are a disaster and the fans and ownership are most likely going to want to move on very soon. The guessing-game part comes into which one of them will get the axe next.

Doug Pederson’s Jaguars are abysmal and are getting blown out every week. The players look like they’ve quit on the team. They were supposed to make the playoffs this year but will most certainly not.

Eberflus being on this list would have been a surprise just a month or so ago when the Bears were 4-2 and riding pretty high. They have since dropped four in a row and have even fired personnel. It wouldn’t surprise me if he were to be fired if they drop their next two games, which against the Vikings and Bears they may very well do. This is who’d I’d bet to be fired next.
