Which Sportsbooks Allow You to Buy Points?

We’ve all been there.. the line looks good but it would look even better if you could shave a half point off. Maybe you even want to knock a whole point off the line or add one too it. For some sportsbooks this isn’t a big deal at all. You simply have to pay more juice to accomplish it. You can move the spread any direction you wish but you will risk more to win the same amount.

Some books do not offer this option however. They find it more economical and easier to balance their books if they control the line and everyone is getting the same line in a timeframe. We’ve all been cooked by the hook. It’s a terrible feeling. This is why we are creating this article with a list of books that allow you to buy points.

Quick History of Point Buying

I’m not entirely 100% sure where the practice originated but my educated guess is it began offshore. In the 90’s, when we all placing bets and the line was the line, take it or leave it. Then online offshore sportsbooks popped up and started offering the option and some local bookmakers took note. Out of the blue one day they’d mention “you know you can buy the half and make it 2.5?” or something to that effect.

BetUS.com – This tried and trusted sportsbook allows you to buy up to 2 points in either direction. Never get cooked by the hook again!

SportsBetting.ag – Another industry heavyweight, this outfit allows you to buy up to 2 points in either direction.

BetAnySports.eu – A premium book that allows you to move the line 1.5 points if you like.

BetOnline.ag – Move the line 2 points without any trouble. Simply add your play to the ticket and click the drop down point menu.

HeritageSports.eu – They do things a little different. You can move the line 20 points if you want. Be prepared to pay for the massive move though. Example: Move the line 18 points and pay a -9884 vig.

Sportsbook That Do Not Allow You to Move the Line

Bovada.lv – A safe and secure platform that has always been a stickler about line movement. They want no part of it.

Hard Rock Sportsbook – Nice app and fun bonuses but if you want to shave off the hook you better play elsewhere.

JuiceBet.ag – Cool platform with many great features but unfortunately moving the point spread isn’t one of them.

Everygame.eu – This is a sportsbook we have loved forever. Unfortunately they don’t let you move the line.
