2024 NFL Football & College Football Futures Picks

The season is upon us. After a very soft open, college football really begins this weekend and all of the futures are still on the board. The NFL’s first game is still a week away and all of those futures are available as well. With that in mind, I put together this article with my futures picks based on what I see at this moment.

Some folks may think this article contains too many favorites to be a valuable picks article but the favorites are favorites for a reason. I will throw in a few upset sleepers too in order to round things out a bit.

NFL

AFC Champion

The Kansas City Chiefs are hard to bet against and are overall AFC favorites to win it all again in the 2024-25 season. The Ravens are second on the odds chart to win the AFC. They added some pieces including former rushing champ Derrick Henry. But we are looking elsewhere in the AFC for our pick and although not a huge longshot, it certainly pays better than the overall favorites.

The Cincinnati Bengals are our pick to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl by winning the AFC Championship (+700 at BetUS.com). Through the draft and free agency, the Bengals were able to shore up some holes left by their own departing players. Mix in the fact that Joe Burrow is truly healthy for the first time in a few years and you have our pick. Don’t forget, the Bengals beat the Chiefs a few seasons ago to play in the Super Bowl.

NFC Champion

This one is easy for us. We see a 49ers team that has been so close to winning it all finally having the experience and reps at the QB to be able to take the team over the top. QB Brock Purdy will never put up Peyton Manning numbers. His strength is his decision making and ability to pick apart defenses and take what they give him. In his third NFL season, he will win the NFC again and represent the conference in the Super Bowl (+275 at BetUS.com)

Super Bowl Champion

So, I have the Bengals playing the 49ers in the Super Bowl. All the pressure is on the Niners to finally get it done. I believe they are 0-3 in their last three cracks at the big game. The fans want it so bad they can taste it. Purdy and his Niners will be slight favorites (3-4.5 points) and the Bengals will be a very popular underdog to bet. But they will be wasted money in my opinion as the Niners pull off the victory at the end and punch a TD in for good measure at the end of the game to put it out of reach. I am confident about the 49ers and will not be offering a sleeper pick for the NFL.

NCAA Football

Championship

The Michigan Wolverines were able to dominate the entire season from front to back in 2023-24. They won every game soundly and the closest one was a 30-24 win at Ohio State. Michigan lost their head coach and most of their starters. It will be a sad year for them. The glow from last season will wear off quickly.

Georgia is a beast. Head Coash Kirby Smart will be returning a ton of talent and QB Carson Beck has the reps under his belt to take them to them to the finish line. With the expanded playoffs, it really is anyone’s game and this means a team like Georgia can drop a few and still make it into the playoffs. As good as the SEC is, Georgia should be able to run the table. Their biggest challenges will be at Alabama (who we think will be a big let down this year) and at Texas. The Bulldogs should be able to win these games and will be favored. Take Georgia to win it all at +325 at BetUS.com

Heisman Trophy

Based on the information above, you may be able to already tell who I am picking to win the Heisman. QB Carson Beck in his second season starting should be able to post dramatic numbers. Last year he threw for 3900+ yards, 24 TDs and just 6 int’s. Look for the Bulldogs to lean on his arm more this season and for him to double those TD numbers and take his team all the way. Sleeper Picks

Oregon at +1000 at Everygame.eu is a solid sleeper pick. Former Oklahoma/UCF QB Dillon Gabriel steps in for departing Bo Nix and takes over an offense which returns five starters from last season when the Ducks went 12-2 and 10-3-1 ATS. The defense also returns 5 starters as well. Oregon may very well run their regular season schedule. They have to get past Ohio State on October 12th but they get to face the Buckeyes in Eugene, which will definitely help.

Dillon Gabriel may very throw for 50 TD’s this season and put up eyepopping numbers. Although +800 for Heisman doesn’t make him a “sleeper pick” per se, he is my backup pick if Carson Beck is unable to live up to expectations.
