MILWAUKEE @ LA CLIPPERS

Milwaukee just lost by one (123-122) to the Lakers on Friday night. The Clippers, who list Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and James Harden as questionable for Sunday’s game, last played on Wednesday when they beat Houston 122-116. Look for the Clippers Big 3 to play, but keep in mind that Russell Westbrook is out with a broken hand.

Despite their loss to the Lakers, the Bucks have gotten back to playing defense. Before their two losses on their current West Coast road trip, Milwaukee won six straight and held four of those opponents to less than 100 points. All six of those games went Under the total. The Clippers are a solid defense as well and five of their last seven games have gone Under the total. One of those games was on Monday against these same Milwaukee Bucks.

The Clippers lost 113-106 in Milwaukee. The total went Under 222.5. Expect Sunday’s total to be in that same range and for these two defensive-minded teams to play a low-scoring battle. Play the Under down to 220.5.

PHILADELPHIA @ NEW YORK

The Knicks are a 5.5-point home favorite against Philly in a battle of JV teams. Both teams have suffered significant injuries. The Sixers haven’t had Joel Embiid for a few weeks and he remains out indefinitely. De’Anthony Melton is out indefinitely and Nic Batum and Tyrese Maxey are both questionable for Sunday.

For New York, Julius Randle, O.G. Anunoby, and Mitchell Robinson have all been out of the lineup for some time and remain out indefinitely. Backing either of these teams is not in anyone’s best interests. The Knicks are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 and 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games at home. Philly is 2-5 SU and 1-5-1 ATS in its last seven games.

There is, however, a strong play here if you can find it. Philly G Kelly Oubre Jr. has averaged 25 points per game over the last three. He’s shooting 42.4 percent and his points prop has come in around 18.5 to 19.5 over the last three. If that holds for Sunday, take Oubre over his points prop.

MINNESOTA @ LA LAKERS

The Lakers picked up a thrilling victory over Milwaukee on Friday night and they did it without LeBron James. Expect James in the lineup for this one, which gives the Lakers a big advantage over a T’Wolves team that will be without Karl-Anthony Towns. Minnesota beat Indiana in its first game without Towns, who will be out for some time with a meniscus tear. 

This will be the T’Wolves fourth game in six days. Minnesota is tired and away from home. The T’Wolves are also just 1-6 ATS in their last seven games. They have done well against the Lakers, historically. Minnesota is 9-4 SU in the last 13 games against Los Angeles and 7-3 ATS in the last 10. The problem for the T’Wolves is that they won’t have Towns, who averages 22.1 points per game. In 25 career games against the Lakers, Towns has averaged 22 points. Minnesota is going to have to make that up somehow. They weren’t able to in Friday night’s overtime loss (113-104) to Cleveland.

Los Angeles has won 11 of its last 15 games and the Lakers have covered two of their last three. The Lakers are 23-12 SU as a favorite and they will take advantage of playing at home in primetime against a shorthanded and tired Minnesota team.
