NFL Coach of the Year Final Odds
The 2023-2024 regular season ends this Sunday. Many teams don’t have anything to play for and some will be resting their players. There are some playoffs implications however and those games will be front and center. Miami is hosting Buffalo on Sunday Night Football and the winner of that game will decide who is the AFC East champ. Buffalo is favored (-3) at top sportsbooks.
This is the week where coaching and players awards odds are solidified. Not much can happen this week to change the minds of the voters. For example, the Cleveland Browns have punched their ticket to the post-season after facing more adversity than most teams face in any season. They lost their starting RB and QB to season-ending injuries. Their backup QB’s came in and couldn’t get the job done. So they placed a call to Joe Flacco who was drinking a lemonade on his porch. They have been outstanding ever since and as a result, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanksi is the overall favorite to win coach of the year.
Number 2 on that list is Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans who also used to be a player there. It may be argued that his success is all a result of the outstanding play of rookie quarterback CJ Stroud. Still, the quarterback is not the whole team and Ryans oversaw a rebuild that saw the Texans go from 3-13-1 last season to 9-7 entering their final game against the Colts.
