Final Heisman Odds for 2023 – Winner Announced Saturday Dec. 9th 2023
The Heisman Trophy will be announced this Saturday and the picture is shaping up to be a lot different than when the season started. Heck, it looks a lot different than it did just a month ago.
It’s all but a foregone conclusion that LSU QB Jayden Daniels will bring home the hardware. Daniels has thrown for 3800 yards, 40 TD’s against just 4 interceptions. He has also rushed for 800+ yards and 10 TD’s
Caleb Williams (last year’s winner), who led Heisman odds just a month ago, had a bad run of luck and his team dropped game after game down the stretch. His performance was good but not stellar.
Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. was leading just three weeks ago until he had a few outings that were just mediocre. Yes, his team is undefeated and going to the playoffs but his game against Oregon State was pedestrian at best. It was not totally his fault as the weather was lousy on that afternoon.
Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders was a very early season favorite as Colorado jumped out to a 3-0 start and the QB was “lights out”. After that his stock plummeted Coach Prime and his team started dropping games and won just one more all season.
