NY Jets vs Atlanta Falcons Game Preview and Free Pick Against the Spread
The Atlanta Falcons are set to face the New York Jets on Sunday, November 3 for some Week 13 NFL action. This upcoming game is a good opportunity for both teams to assert dominance in their division and further strengthen their positions.
The Falcons, with a 5-6 record, are right where they want to be; at first place in the NFC South. They are coming off of a great 24-15 victory over the New Orleans Saints.
For the Jets, they are currently 4-7 in the season, standing at third in the AFC East. They lost 34-13 against the Miami Dolphins in Week 12, this being their fourth consecutive loss.
Let’s take a look at what Week 12 has to say about how the teams are doing.
Week 12 for the Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons are leading their division at the moment with just a 5-6 record, despite the fact that they are being outscored by 19 points on the season. The major reason behind this success has been their divisional games; 3-0 against the NFC South.
The game against the Saints was also quite an interesting one. The one player who stood out the most that night was rookie running back Bijan Robinson. He notched one touchdown on the ground and then another as a receiver. He also caught three passes for 32 yards on six targets, quite a significant contribution towards the victory.
Other than that they also have quarterback Desmond Ridder on board who got the job done despite his numbers. They also have wide receiver Drake London who is quite the threat with 565 yards and two touchdowns so far in the season. Safety Jessie Bates III also hauled in an outstanding interception.
The Falcons have had to face one competitive game after the other and the fact that they are currently at the top of their division is evident of how capable they are of winning.
Week 12 for the New York Jets
On the other side, the Jets have suddenly become a mess after a good start to the season. They have lost consecutive games and don’t have much hope left of turning the 2023 NFL season around. Their Week 12 game against the Dolphins was nothing but disappointing and the same goes for the three games before that.
The Jets took their sweet time in getting on the board and the opposition answered effectively as soon as it happened. The Dolphins continued to dominate, eventually emerging victorious.
For the offense, quarterback Tim Boyle struggled quite a lot, finishing with 27 of 38 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown. Other than that, defensive end Will McDonald IV managed a pair of tackles. The rest of the roster didn’t stand out much and failed to provide the impact the team needed to win.
The Jets are at home for this upcoming game so hopefully they can take advantage of the opportunity. However, with no quarterback play and several other such challenges, it is quite difficult to imagine the Jets winning.
What to expect in Week 13?
The Atlanta Falcons have more of an edge over the New York Jets in the upcoming game. They have gained just the right momentum but will have to put in an extra bit of effort so that they can overpower the Jets’ strong defense. SBA thinks this game should be ATL -5 but BetUS.com has the spread down at ATL -2. The Falcons are the obvious and clear cut play here.
