NFL Packers vs Rams Free Picks – Point Spread and Total

Scott Morris | November 2, 2023
Packers vs Rams free pick

The Los Angeles Rams (3-5) are all set to take on the Green Bay Packers (2-5) on Sunday, November 5, for some Week 9 NFL action. Both teams haven’t been doing that well recently and are looking for wins to further strengthen their positions in the upcoming weeks.

The Rams are coming off of their second consecutive defeat, 43-20 against the Dallas Cowboys. NFL standings show that they are currently standing at third in the NFC West.

The Packers continued to struggle and lost their fourth consecutive game in Week 8, 24-10 against the Minnesota Vikings. Not a lot different from the Rams, they are also standing at third in the NFC North.

How have the Los Angeles Rams been doing?

The Rams didn’t have the Week 8 they were going for, losing their second straight game. The Cowboys were tough competition and the Rams just couldn’t shut them down on the field.

Rams qb Stafford suffers thumb injuryThey lost their quarterback Matthew Stafford to a thumb injury during the game and he was replaced by backup Brett Rypien in the second half. Stafford, first pick of the 2009 draft, has done an excellent job on the field, gathering a total of 2100 yards and 8 touchdowns just this season. It will make things quite difficult for the Rams if he doesn’t return to the field soon.

Defensive tackle Aaron Donald seemed to be by himself on the defense, managing a pair of sacks despite great play by the Cowboys. Even safety Jordan Fuller added an interception quite early on in the game but it didn’t do much for them.

Running back Darrell Henderson, along with Royce Freeman, led their offense yet again, with Henderson hauling in 3 receptions for 54 yards.

The Rams have all the potential to win; things have just not been going their way for the past few weeks. However, it isn’t anything they can’t overcome and will hopefully succeed at doing so against the Packers in the upcoming week.

What went wrong for the Green Bay Packers?

The struggles just won’t stop for the Packers in the 2023 NFL season and it shows from their four consecutive losses.

Quarterback Jordan Love hasn’t been doing as well as the team expected him to and he’s not the only one. He has managed 8 interceptions to just 11 touchdowns up till now. Running backs Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon haven’t been doing anywhere near good this year. They have a combined total of just 400 yards and two touchdowns so far in this season. Their run game is just as bad. Jayden Reed leads with just 314 yards and three touchdowns.

The Packers have been nothing but disappointing this year and fans don’t expect much from them in the upcoming weeks either.

Point Spread and Total

SBA Live NFL Odds has Green Bay favored -3 at home. The total is sitting at 41 points. Obviously the oddsmakers are expecting a relatively lower scoring affair.

Match Up Trends

The Rams are 2-1-1 ATS on the road this year. The Packers are 1-2 ATS at home. Historically the LA Rams are 0-5 ATS in its last 5 games when playing Green Bay but this ain’t the Packers team of old. In fact, Green Bay is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games.

What may go down in Week 9?

The Green Bay Packers haven’t given us a good reason to think that they might win this Week 9 game which is why it is only fair to predict that the Los Angeles Rams will win. The Packers aren’t getting much from their offense, however, their defense is still doing okay. But, then again, it isn’t anything the Rams can’t overpower. For this reason we like the Rams +3 and the OVER. If Stafford cannot go for any reason then all bets are off. Bet these picks now at these sportsbooks and bet with confidence that they will never do you wrong.
