Las Vegas Raiders versus the New England Patriots Free Pick
The New England Patriots will be competing against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6 of the 2023 NFL season on Monday, October 16. Both teams desperately need another win on their record if they wish to take control over the situation and try to make a comeback.
The Patriots are coming off of a very embarrassing 34-0 loss against the New Orleans Saints in Week 5. On the other side, the Raiders won 17-13 against the Green Bay Packers on Monday night.
Let us take a closer look at what went down in Week 5.
New England Patriots – Week 5
The Patriots are heading into Week 6 with a 1-4 record. They have been more than just disappointing on the field this time around. Their game against the Saints wasn’t any better than the others.
Running back Rhamondre Stevenson did his best to help the Patriots, leading the offense with 8 carries for 24 yards. Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne also finished with 43 yards on 2 receptions but it just wasn’t enough. Linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley was the most active defender for the team that night, finishing with a total of 11 tackles, five of which were on his own.
Quarterback Mac Jones finished with 12 of 22 passes for 110 yards however, things continued to go badly for the Patriots’ offense. The QB even fumbled on a bad pitch to Stevenson. His second interception of the day bounced the ball to the Saints and things only got worse. He was replaced with Bailey Zappe who ended the game with 3/9 for 22 yards.
The Patriots need to take a closer look at what keeps on going wrong for them. If they continue to play this way, they might not make it far in the 2023 NFL season. To be honest, it seems like Bill Belichick’s days in New England are numbered. It also now becomes a little more clear that he cannot win without Tom Brady.
Las Vegas Raiders – Week 5
The Raiders are 2-3 being 5 weeks into the regular season. They, most recently, managed to walk away with a 17-13 win against the Packers. Their performance was evident of all the work they have put into the team to prepare them for the field.
The Raiders were unable to score for the first 15 minutes but still managed a strong defensive performance and did just enough to maintain the 4-point lead until the very end.
Running back Josh Jacobs finished the game with 20 carries for 69 yards which helped them out a lot during the game. Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers was the Raiders’ best, grabbing 7 footballs for 75 yards. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo managed one touchdown and finished with 22 of 31 passes for 208 yards.
The Raiders definitely know what they’re doing right and it works for them every now and then. They won’t let anything get in the way of taking another win home in Week 6.
What to expect?
The matchup between the Patriots and the Raiders will be quite an interesting one as both teams battle it out on the field. The Raiders have been doing great and definitely have more of an edge over the struggling Patriots. The line at BetOnline.ag has the Raiders favored by just a FG. It seems like a solid wager to go ahead and take the Raiders again this week.
