New Orleans Saints vs Tampa Bay Bucs Preview and Pick

Baker Mayfield Sainst free pick week 4

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are all set to compete against the New Orleans Saints in Week 4 of the 2023 NFL season. The NFC South matchup on Sunday, October 1st will most definitely be a nerve wracking one.

Both teams are coming off of their first losses in the regular season. Buccaneers were defeated 25-11 by the Philadelphia Eagles and, on the other side, the Saints lost 18-17 to the Green Bay Packers.

Week 3 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers tried as hard as they could but just didn’t play well enough to get a chance to get ahead of the Eagles in their Week 3 game.

The one thing going good for them is quarterback Baker Mayfield, who came in place of Tom Brady after he retired. He finished the Week 3 game with 15 of 25 passes for 146 yards and also got a touchdown. He also threw his first interception, making it the team’s first turnover of the season. Wide receiver Mike Evans gathered 60 yards on 5 catches, holding an average of 12 yards per catch. Their rushing offense was led by running back Rachaad White, who led them with 14 attempts for 38 yards.

The team ran the ball 17 different times and got a total of 41 yards (an average of 2.4 yards per attempt). They have now earned 853 yards in total so far in the season.

The Buccaneers’ skilled roster certainly has the potential of winning their upcoming game. They have done it twice before in the 2023 season and will surely strive to make it happen again.

Week 3 for the New Orleans Saints

The Week 3 game against the Packers was an eventful one for the Saints to say the least.

Their quarterback Derek Carr was forced off the field during the game because of an apparent shoulder injury. He walked away with one touchdown and 13 of 18 passes for 103 yards. Jameis Winston filled in for him for the rest of the game and is expected to start in Week 4 as well if Carr isn’t fit enough to return to the field.

The player who contributed the most in the passing game was wide receiver Chris Olave, who hauled in 8 passes for 104 yards. Even running back Kendre Miller managed to run the ball 9 times for 34 yards.

The Saints finished the game 252 yards but it just wasn’t enough to beat the tough opposition.

They are going to have to work a little more if they wish to do any better, now that Carr is off the field for who knows how long.

What does Week 4 have in store?

Both teams are 2-1 at the moment and their Week 4 face off will determine which of the two is capable of getting ahead. Fans are eager to see which side is better at recovering from their last loss. The spread currently has the Saints favored by 3.5 points. A full 75% of the action plus so far has been bet on the Bucs. The reason is simple. If Carr is out for this game, then Jameis Winston will be the starter. People simply don’t have any faith in Winston and they are betting against him more than they are betting for the Bucs.

However, we think the Saints will put together a strong game plan regardless of who gets the start at QB and are suggesting to our readers to play the Saints. I would buy the point to make it -2.5 or the moneyline as an insurance policy against a close game. But we think New Orleans gets this win.
