2022 Preakness Stakes Odds
The 147th running of the Preakness Stakes takes place this Saturday evening. The start time is listed as 7:01 pm EST and can be seen on CBS Sports.
The Preakness Stakes is the second leg of the Triple Crown, a series of three major horse races that take place in springtime in the United States.
Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike will not be racing in this year’s Preakness Stakes as per the horses’ owner Rick Dawson. “We are going to stay with our plan of what’s best for Ritchie is what’s best for our group,” Dawson said. It appears they are aiming to run Rich Strike at Belmont, the third race in the Triple Crown.
BetOnline Props Director Adam Burns said the following “After the excitement the Kentucky Derby finish accumulated, not having Rich Strike in the Preakness field is disappointing for the books as well as the fans. The betting handle will be a fraction of what it would’ve been with him running.” Rich Strike was a long shot at 80-1 to win the Kentucky Derby before the race started and was a last minute addition. The race saw 21 horses run. Preakness will feature only 9.
