2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Odds
The NFL draft came and went. The best players in college football were drafted by their respective teams. Now there are odds available as to which of those players will earn accolades in 2022. In this article we will discuss the Rookie of the Year award and give odds.
It was a unique draft in that the first five players drafted were all defensive players. The next two were offensive lineman. It wasn’t until Atlanta drafted WR Drake London out of USC with the 8th pick that we saw an offensive “skills position” player taken. In fact, only 7 skills position players were taken in the entire first round. Only one of those was a QB.
Kenny Pickett from Pitt was that lone QB taken in round one. The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him #20 overall. Much has been made in the Pittsburgh community that the young man won’t even have to change where he practices as the Steelers practice at Pitt. We mention Pickett because he is the overall favorite to win the Rookie of the year award.
Pickett had outstanding numbers at Pitt. He can really sling the rock. But there was a big todo right before the draft about his hand size. This is only a factor worth mentioning because the college ball is a bit smaller than the pro ball. Still, the young man is the overall favorite to win ROY.
