Odds on Next NBA Coach to be Fired
In the NBA, its the head coach that takes the blame for slow starts. Players playing badly, management and ownership take less of the blame. The head coach job is essentially a scapegoat when things are failing.
Yesterday, the Minnesota Timberwolves fired Ryan Saunders after an abysmal 7-24 start. The season is almost halfway over and this is usually the time you see some coaches get the axe.
Our friends over at SportsBetting.ag have created a prop as to which head coach will be fired next. Some folks may think this is a morbid thing to bet but trust me, these guys make enough money to handle the layoff period. They will find work coaching in basketball again soon.
Atop the list of favorites to be fired is Luke Walton. The former college star and NBA veteran hasn’t had much success in the head coaching arena since becoming one in the 2014-2015 season. He has gone 141-207 total and has never had a winning season. His Sacramento Kings are off to a lackluster 12-18 start. For many, the writing is on the wall. Personally, I hope its Stan Van Gundy. I cannot stand that Ron Jeremy looking mf. ~ Scott
