2021 Kentucky Derby Odds

The biggest horse race of the “Triple Crown” is at the start of the season rather than the end. That is, unless there is a horse in contention to win all three, then the final race becomes most important.

This year’s Kentucky Derby is in three weeks from today and we have the skinny on which horses will be your best best. We also have betting odds for the big race.

According to the official Kentucky Derby website, the track is allowing 40-50% of normal fan capacity because of Covid. It also states that if Covid numbers improve between now and then they may let in more people. But this doesn’t really concern us. You and I wil be watching from our TV’s at home, drinking a cold one with our bets placed online.

Favorites

The 2021Kentucky Derby features two horses which are clear favorites. Those horses are Essential Quality and Concert Tour. Both horses are single digit odds whereas the rest of the field are double digits.

Essential Quality is an undefeated American Colt who was named the 2020 American Champion after winning the Breeders’ Futurity and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. The horse has taken five victories overall. You can find more detail by clicking here
