College Football Championship Opening Line and Line Move
The two teams are set to play in the college football national championship game being played on January 13, 2019 at 8pm ET on ESPN. The LSU Tigers are facing the Clemson Tigers, for what will surely be dubbed “The Tiger Bowl”.
LSU destroyed Oklahoma 63-28 with a performance of 8 TD’s (7 passing, 1 rushing) by their Heisman winner Joe Burrow.
Clemson fought it out in a tough one with Ohio State and won 29-23 and was able to escape a game winning TD attempt by the Buckeyes when a Clemson DB secured the victory by intercepting QB Fields in the end zone.
The opening line at BetOnline was LSU -3.5 points. It has since been bet up to -4.5 points at that sportsbook (within minutes). The moneyline is LSU -195 vs Clemson +170 and the total (over under) is 68.5 points.
Update: 12:45 am ET – Line has moved to LSU -5. Total is steady at 68.5 points.
Update: 4:20 pm ET – The line has continued to creep upwards and is not LSU -6 at most shops. Bovada even has LSU -6.5. The total has crept upwards as well. It is currently 69.5 and 70 points across the board. 67% of the bets have been on LU thus far.
Meanwhile in Las Vegas, the line opened way down at LSU -3 points at Caesars. It appears it is on the rise there as well.
