College Football Champion Futures Action Report
The game which decides the 2019 college football championship is not far away. The games that decide who gets to participate in the big one are just two days away. Clemson takes on Ohio State and Oklahoma does battle with LSU.
The betting public has been able to bet which of these four teams will win it all for three weeks now. In this article we will show you the which teams received what percentage of overall bets (both in total tickets and $). The report is compiled from information published by William Hill US, a sportsbooks with over 100 locations within the United States.
Team | Odds | % of total tickets | % of total $ |
---|---|---|---|
LSU | 6/5 | 21% | 15% |
Clemson | 11/5 | 20% | 40% |
Ohio State | 13/5 | 34% | 29% |
Oklahoma | 14/1 | 25% | 16% |
Returning champ Clemson Tigers seem to have the public’s confidence as far as overall money wagered. We are told that the larger money wagers are coming in on the Tigers. As far as total tickets written, Ohio State is the people’s choice.
Total money is lowest on LSU, probably because they are the odds on favorite and return the least profit. Oklahoma is right there with lowest $ wagered as well. At 14/1 odds and the worst defense in the playoffs their chances to win it all are very slim. But hey, stranger things have happened.
Look ahead lines for the potential championship game matchup have been issued as well
Potential match-ups | Lines |
---|---|
Oklahoma vs Ohio State | Ohio State -7.5 |
Oklahoma vs Clemson | Clemson -8 |
Clemson vs LSU | LSU -1 |
Ohio State vs LSU | LSU -1.5 |
I like Clemson to win and cover against Oklahoma if that matchup materializes. Though, it is important to remember that if Oklahoma is playing in the championship game, then they just beat the #1 overall team. Still, I think Clemson, and probably Ohio State for that matter, would dispatch of Oklahoma and win and cover the spread.
