Seattle vs Minnesota Monday Night Football Free Pick
Monday Night features a tremendous NFL matchup between two good teams. The 9-2 Seattle Seahawks host the 8-3 Minnesota Vikings. Both teams are 6-5 against the spread. Seattle is currently favored -3 points and the total rests at 50 points. You can see all current live odds at our live odds site.
Match-Ups Offense vs. Defense
Minnesota averages 26.27 points per game on offense and allows 18.64 PPG. They have a very potent offense that is predicated on the run. They average 142 rushing YPG. The passing game is not lacking in the least bit. The Vikings pass for 236 yards per game. This brings their offense output to 378 YPG.
The Seahawks do not have the defensive capability they once did, when they were known as “The Legion of Boom”. The team gives up almost 24 PPG on average. Though they are stingy against the run game (allowing only 101 YPG), they do give up some sizable yardage on their passing defense (268 YPG).
Seattle’s offense is led by Mr. do-it-all Russel Wilson. The QB played so well early in the season that he was the odds-on-favorite to win the league MVP award. His play has been a little lackluster as of late. Wilson averages just under 250 yards per game passing. He enters this game with 271 yards and 3 TD’s rushing. Still, the team as a whole rushes for 137 YPG.
The Vikings defense is good. They allow just 94 YPG rushing. They allow 244 YPG passing. They will get testing on both aspects by the Seahawks who seem to have mastered balancing an offense.
What is Likely to Happen
When looking at this game I can see a game where both defenses step up to the plate and force punts. I can see both offenses running the heck out of the ball (or at east attempting to). This will cause the clock to run. For this reason I am picking the Under 50 points. The weather in Seattle will be cold, an estimated 38 degrees F at kick-off.
I think that Seattle, with their multi-faceted QB, will be the difference-maker. Vikings QB Kirk Cousins is good but has struggled on Monday Night Football.
The @Seahawks beat the @Vikings 21-7 on MNF in week 14 of 2018 season. @KirkCousins8 has yet to win a MNF game in his career (0-7), worst in NFL history.

It is for these reasons above that I am also betting the Seahawks minus the field goal. They call Seattle’s home crown “The Twelfth Man” and this Monday Night they will get to prove why they earned this nickname. Minnesota is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games when playing Seattle. They are also 0-5 in their last 5 straight up when playing Seattle. There is no guarantee that this trend will continue but it helps to know that Minnesota typically struggles against the Seahawks. At Seattle, specifically, Minnesota is just 1-5 SU and ATS in their last six games against the Hawks.
