NFL Free Pick: Seahawks vs Bears
Week 2 of the NFL regular season comes to a close on Monday Night Football when the Seattle Seahawks visit the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. The Bears looked to be on the way to victory in Week 1 until Aaron Rodgers rallied the Packers to a victory and ruined the Bears season opener.
The current line on top sportsbooks has Chicago favored by 4.5 points with the over/under on 43.
The Bears led the Pack by 20 points and newly acquired Khalil Mack looked the dominant defensive force the team knew he would be, but Rodgers returned from an earlier injury and threw not one nor two, but three TDs passes during the fourth quarter to beat the Bears 24-23.
Seattle lost a close game in Week 1 as well falling to Denver 27-24, which makes this game all the more interesting between two teams that are hungry and in need of a victory. Seattle coach Pete Carroll said that the Bears had a great game going but Rodgers stole the show.
Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson, who received constant pressure from the Broncos defense, managed to throw for 298 yards and three touchdowns, but had two interceptions. The Seahawks lost top wide receiver Doug Baldwin with a sprained MCL and that leaves Brandon Marshall and Tyler Lockett as the top two wide receivers.
On defense, the Seahawks signed Mychal Kendricks a linebacker, who recently pleaded guilty to insider trading, but the team is thin there with both Bobby Wagner and K.J Wright missing practice last week.
Mack will debut at Soldier Field for the Bears. Against the Packers, the ultra-talented Mack in just the first half sacked the quarterback, forced a fumble, and returned an interception for six points.
The Chicago defense ended with four sacks and will pressure an offensive line of Seattle that allowed six sacks last week and three came from the linebacker (Von Miller) spot and guess where Mack plays.
Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky threw for just 171 yards with 61 yards going to Allen Robinson, an offseason acquisition at wide receiver. Running back Jordan Howard rushed for 82 yards and caught five passes for 25 yards.
Prediction: The Bears appeared much better in Week 1 than at any point last season. The already talented defense is now a top five defense with Khalil Mack. The offense needs more from Trubisky in the passing game, but should score enough to beat the Seahawks, who are limited at both running back and wide receiver with no big play players, giving Russell Wilson a very small margin of error. Bears win at home 20-17 but Seahawks cover and the under cashes. Bet Seahawks and Under at a top rated sportsbook.
