New Favorite Emerges for Kentucky Derby

Last month we previewed the 2018 Kentucky Derby for the first time this year. In that article we explained how a horse named Bolt d’Oro was the favorite. We have an updated favorite. A horse named Mendelssohn is now the overall favorite. On Saturday the horse won the Grade 2 UAE Derby, the latest success in a three race win streak. At the UAE Derby, Mendelssohn beat the track record and won by 18-1/2 lengths.
Bolt d’Oro is down to the third overall favorite behind Audible. These three horses are considered by many to be the cream of the crop for the 2018 horse racing year. The complete odds are as follows:
