NCAA Football Championship Opening Line and Analysis
Its set and ready to go. Georgia is set to face off against SEC rival Alabama in the college football championship game. The line was issued immediately at Alabama -4.5 and the total at 45.5 points. The line has not moved much since. The action is pouring evenly on both side and total. The moneyline is Bama -200 and Georgia +170.
Yesterday, Georgia beat Oklahoma in double overtime in what will become a classic. Lots of scoring and excitement. Georgia won 54-48.
In the late game, Alabama simply wore down an inferior opponent in their game and pulled away at the end with two defensive touchdowns to down the Clemson Tigers 24-6.
In their last matchup against each other, Alabama defeated Georgia 38-10 in October of 2015. That was the last time that Alabama was an underdog in a game. That was over two years ago and a lot has changed since then for both teams.
Experts are saying the line may be a little high and may be puffed up by a point because “it is Bama”. The computer models have Alabama -3.5.
The game will be played Monday January 8 at 9 pm EST on ESPN
