Top 25 Odds and Ends

The Alabama Crimson Tide continued its dominance over opponents beating Mississippi 66-3. In two SEC games this season, the Tide has outscored its opponents 125-3. Alabama’s last three games have all cashed OVER.

Clemson defeated Virginia Tech on Saturday to become the first ever college football team to defeated three teams ranked in the Top 15 prior to October 1. Clemson’s defense is one of the best, if not the best in the nation, helping them to go 4-1 ATS overall and 2-0 ATS away from home.

One of the few favorites to fall outright was USC. The Trojans were beaten on Friday night by Washington State. The Cougars were 0-2 ATS to start the season, but are now 3-2 ATS after covering the last three.

Miami routed Duke 31-6 on the road giving the Blue Devils their first outright loss and non-cover this season, while the Hurricanes are now off to a 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS start.

Auburn showed its strength again with a 49-10 drubbing of Mississippi State. The Tigers have started their SEC schedule 2-0 SU and ATS, averaging 50 points per game while allowing only 12 per game.

Penn State is continuing to get strong performances out of Saquon Barkley the Heisman Trophy hopeful. The Nittany Lions beat Indiana 45-14. However, the Penn State defense is shutting down opponents leading to the UNDER cashing in 4 of 5 games this season.

Georgia looked impressive with a 41-0 rout of Tennessee on the road at Knoxville. The Bulldogs have covered the number in 4 of 5 games, while the UNDER has cashed in all five games. The Georgia defense is giving up only 9.2 points per game in its first five games.
