Ohio State Has Good Value On the Road at Oklahoma

Scott Morris | September 13, 2016

The Ohio State Buckeyes have been playing solid football the first two weeks of the season both at home and on the road. The Buckeyes are currently No. 3 in the AP Top 25, trailing No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Florida State.

However, the Buckeyes have decimated opponents when on the road. This weekend, Ohio State takes to the road and visits the No. 14 Oklahoma Sooners putting their road win streak of 18 straight games on the line.

This season, Ohio State has yet to be tested the first two weeks, as their point differential of 125-13 shows. Quarterback J.T. Barrett did not play as well in Week 2, but the Ohio State defense picked up the offensive slack with four interceptions, of which two were pick-6.

Despite Oklahoma’s coaches questioning their own decisions after a Week 1 loss, the Sooners continue to be a team that could still reach the College Football Playoff, but a loss this week would all but end their national title hopes.

The Buckeyes opened as a 2.5-point road favorite on most sportsbooks. One computer simulation game had the Buckeyes winning in a shootout 42-40.

Ohio State is now 2-0 straight up and against the spread, while the Sooners are 1-1 SU and ATS. The over/under is 1-1 for the Buckeyes as well as for the Sooners.

Ohio State will be coming off a 48-3 rout of Tulsa in Week 2, while Oklahoma regrouped from its opening week loss to Houston 33-23, to down the ULM Warhawks 59-17
