Favorites for East and West Divisions in SEC
As anyone who follows college football knows, the SEC has dominated the sport over the past decade and appears to have the strongest conference top to bottom again this season.
The two divisions of the SEC will have their own winner with the two battling it out at the end of the season for the conference title.
Here is a look at the odds for the East and West divisions of the SEC.
The East division Tennessee Volunteers finished their 2015 very strong with a record of 9-4 straight up and 8-5 against the spread. The Volunteers are expected to have a stronger season in 2016 with the OVER on 9.5 wins sitting on -115 on most online sportsbooks.
The Volunteers are 15 to 1 to win the National Championship this season. Those odds are the 7th shortest in college football.
Expected to push the Volunteers in the East division are the Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs. Tennessee is -150 to win the East, while Georgia is +275 and Florida +450.
In the West, Alabama is expected to once again rule the roost, but is expected to be pressured by LSU. Alabama is +100 to win the division, while LSU is +250 and Ole Miss is a distant third at +750.
Alabama not only is the favorite to win its West division of the SEC but is favored to win the SEC championship and the National Championship as well.
Even though the Crimson Tide lost a number of its players to the NFL draft, the team is expected to replace them and be as tough as ever during its 10th year under head coach Nick Saban.
However, if you are looking for some true value, and we know sports bettors always are, then you will find it in LSU. The Tigers have 18 of their 22 starters returning from last season.
At one point last season, LSU was as high as No. 2 in the nation and had at that time the odds on favorite to win the Heisman Trophy in running back Leonard Fournette.
However, the Tigers lost to Alabama and then followed that with another pair of losses before righting the ship and winning two straight to end the season.
