NBA Betting Trends for Christmas Day Lineup

Scott Morris | December 24, 2015

On Christmas Day, the NBA will have its normal five games schedule including an NBA Finals rematch when the Cleveland Cavaliers visit the reigning champion Golden State Warriors.

Betting trends come in handle for these big games where teams are so equally talented and play so well against one another.

Christmas basketball tips off with the New Orleans Pelicans and Anthony Davis visiting the Miami Heat. That is followed by Derrick Rose and his Chicago Bulls visiting the Oklahoma City Thunder with the star-duo or Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant.

Later in the day, the Cavaliers look for revenge against the Warriors. The battle for Texas was play out as well when San Antonio visits Houston, while a showdown in Los Angeles pits the Lakers vs. the Clippers.

LeBron James as well as Stephen Curry are superstars in the NBA but have had vastly different outcomes in games on Christmas Day.

Since the NBA started to have Christmas Day games, the home teams are 40-25 straight up and 35-30 against the spread, which dates back to the 1993-94 season. Over that same period, the OVER has cashed 26 times, the UNDER 34 times with 5 pushes.

The Miami Heat has the best Christmas Day record of the ten teams playing. The Heat is 9-2 SU and 6-5 ATS. Chicago is a close second at 7-2 SU and 5-4 ATS. The Lakers have the worst record on Christmas Day at 6-11 SU and 9-8 ATS.

The best ATS record of the 10 teams playing is the Houston Rockets at 5-1, followed by the Los Angeles Clippers at 4-1.

Kevin Durant leads in scoring on Christmas Day with a 31.8 points per game average, with Kobe Bryant second at 27.9 and LeBron James and Dwayne Wade tied at third with 26.4 points per game.

Stephen Curry however is averaging just 9.3 points per game in games played on Christmas Day.
