Three NFL Week 4 Picks

Scott Morris | October 1, 2015

Week 4 of the NFL starts on Thursday night, but here are three games worth taking a look at on Sunday’s schedule.

Carolina Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Panthers take a record of 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS into this game with solid performance in each week. That adds to the fact the Panthers are also 4-1 SU over the Bucs over the past five head-to-head meetings.

In 2014, Carolina won both games against its NFC South rival 20-14 on the road and 19-17 on its home field. Both of the games cashed UNDER on the point total and three straight games between the two teams have cashed UNDER.

Last season the teams were 1-1 ATS in their two games, with each covering the number on the road.

Pick: Carolina -3

Houston Texans vs. Atlanta Falcons

The Houston Texans enter this game 1-2 SU as well as ATS. Atlanta is 3-0 SU as well as ATS. The Texans on the road this season are 0-1 ATS.

Atlanta is 3-0 ATS with a margin of victory in three games of 5.7 points. The Falcons over/under is 1-2 thus far. In 2014, Atlanta were just 3-5 SU playing at home, but the trends might be deceiving as the Falcons have a brand new head coach with a completely new attitude.

Pick: Atlanta -4.5

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Cincinnati Bengals

The Chiefs are only 1-4 SU over the past five head-to-head meetings against the Bengals away from home. The last head-to-head game was in 2012 so little can be used in the way of trends from that game.

Kansas City is 2-4 SU over its past six games on the road. That includes their just played Monday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers in which the Chiefs lost on the road.

Cincinnati is 5-3-1 ATS in home games since 2014 with a margin of victory of 2.8 points and in those same nine games has a straight up record of 6-2-1.

Pick: Cincinnati -3.5
