New Prop Available for Brady’s Four-Game Suspension
As mentioned earlier this week, the NFL upheld the four game suspension of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Unless a federal court intervenes, Brady is set to miss games through the first five weeks of the season. New England has a bye week the fourth week and will not play its fourth games until Week 5.
The decision handed down earlier this week might not be the last word heard on the case as both the NFLPA and the league are appealing the decision made in federal court.
While the suspension of four games is looked at by many as too many for a minor infraction, the statement made by the NFL is very clear the decision is more about Brady’s lack of cooperation.
Brady was accused of knowing about the deflating of balls and destroying his cell phone to hide some evidence.
There were 10,000 text messages in the phone that was destroyed and that raised questions about what the Pats quarterback did not want viewed of his phone records.
The NFLPA says the NFL has all the pertinent text messages and that they are just reaching a new low point. Someone is lying about the situation and that could be Brady otherwise why destroy the phone in the first place.
It looks as though it will be Jimmy Garoppolo leading the Pats through Week 5 at quarterback. The big question is if this does go to a federal court, will the court intervene and throw out or reduce the suspension.
There is a prop now available online that gives odds on how many games Brady will actually miss, even though his suspension has been upheld.
The sportsbook stated as of Wednesday afternoon that all of the early bets were on Brady missing the full four games.
The odds thus far for the prop are
O Games missed +160
1 Game missed +500
2 Games missed +120
3 Games missed +1500
4 Games missed +300
