Updated College Football Playoff Futures Board Released
College basketball is on center stage with the NCAA Tournament in full swing. The Sweet 16 and Elite 8 are on tap this weekend. However, that does not mean that odds maker have forgotten about other NCAA sports. This week a new round of College Football Playoff Championship futures was released with some movement amongst the teams with the shortest odds on the board.
The Auburn Tigers have made quite a move up the futures board for college football as the Tigers saw their odds to win the national championship in January of 2016 shortened from an opening price in January of 25 to 1 to its current 15 to 1. Another team that saw its odds shortened was Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish opened at 30 to 1 but have been lowered to their current 20 to 1.
Michigan since hiring new head coach Jim Harbaugh and Oklahoma State, Miami and Texas A&M have all had their odds to win the national championship shortened.
On the other side of the coin, both Oklahoma and Baylor had their futures lengthened since they first opened. Both the Sooners and Bears are 15 to 1 to win the national championship after opening at 12 to 1.
Further down on the board, the prices have increased for teams such as UCLA, Ole Miss, Texas and Stanford. Odds for Mississippi State have dramatically moved as they have doubled since the line was first opened.
The top three on the list remain the Ohio State Buckeyes, Alabama Crimson Tide and the TCU Horned Frogs. Each of their futures has been shortened slightly from their opening odds in January following the national championship game that saw Ohio State beat Oregon.
