NFL Week 12 Picks Against the Spread
11 weeks of NFL football are in the books. Week 12 has already begun, and there are 16 opportunities to make some money this weekend. Of course, not every game is a smart bet. Hopefully you will only make smart bets. There are a few games I wouldn’t touch this weekend.
First off, I’m staying far away from the Browns/Falcons game. Atlanta is a 3-point favorite in a game that could go either way. This one is too tough to call because of Brian Hoyer’s inconsistent play, and also Atlanta’s inconsistent play. I don’t like betting on games involving two teams that are this inconsistent. I wouldn’t bet this game if I were you. There are far too many better opportunities to make money.
Another game I’m not digging is the Detroit/New England game. I do think it’s likely New England – at home – will cover the 7.5 points, but it scares me because Detroit is a very good team with a solid defense. I never like betting against good defensive teams when the spread exceeds 7 points. But, on the other hand, New England has been steamrolling opponents in recent weeks.
The third game I don’t want anything to do with is the Saints/Ravens game on Monday night. New Orleans is a 3.5-point home favorite and I would lean that way. However, this is another battle of two inconsistent teams and it’s hard to guess which teams will show up. If you want to bet these 3 games, I would suggest going the teaser route. Now, let’s move on to 3 games that I really like:
Green Bay (-8) at Minnesota
I realize that it’s hard to convince someone to take a road double-digit NFL favorite, but this one shouldn’t need much convincing. Minnesota isn’t a good team. Green Bay is playing as well as anyone right now. You do the math. Aaron Rodgers will have another big game, and also look for Eddie Lacy to get 90+ yards rushing. Minnesota has too many issues at quarterback right now. Teddy Bridgewater might be the QB of the future in Minneapolis, but he isn’t the QB of right now, which is all that matters. Green Bay will force turnovers while getting big games out of Rodgers and Lacy. Packers will win by 20. Deposit at BetOnline.ag now and get a 25% bonus up to $1000.
San Francisco (-9) vs Washington
The 49ers have two things going for them. First off, I don’t like betting on teams that are traveling across the country. I think that’s worth a few extra points for the home team. Also, the Redskins have some team chemistry issues going on. We don’t truly know just how far Robert Griffin III has distanced himself from his teammates, but it sure seems like there are some issues that team is having. San Francisco has been a bit disappointing this year, but I’ll take them by 10+ at home against the Redskins. Chicago (-6) vs Tampa Bay
It’s Lovie Smith’s return to Chicago. Smith would love nothing more than to prove the Chicago fans wrong by getting a statement win at Soldier Field. Unfortunately, his team is terrible, although it’s not his fault. Chicago has been a disappointment this year, but they don’t typically lose these types of games. Jay Cutler will put up big numbers against Tampa Bay’s mediocre defense. Bears will win this by 17+. We REALLY like this one.
